For those seeking a remote getaway with stunning views, the North Fork Canadian yurt is the perfect choice. This 16-foot yurt, featuring a wraparound deck, comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests and boasts breathtaking views of the Never Summer Mountain Range. It serves as an ideal basecamp for exploring high mountain lakes, mountain biking on nearby trails or ski touring the area. The summer walk-in distance is 1.1 miles, while the winter approach for skiers ranges from 1.1 to 5 miles, depending on the chosen trailhead.

$175 - $200 / Night

Included in Rental

North Fork Canadian Yurt is fully equipped with (1) twin over full bunk beds, (1) twin over twin bunk bed, and (1) twin trundle bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, percolator, electric cooktop and a wood stove. The solar system provides outlets to charge devices and gear. Outside you will find the vault toilet room, stacked wood, and outdoor grill that can be used with the supply of your own charcoal.

What to Bring

You will want to bring bedding/sleeping bag, pillows, food, water, wash cloths, and garbage bags. We are a pack-in, pack-out experience with a long-standing tradition of leaving the cabin better than you found it, inside and out. Please triple check you gathered all of your belongings and food (including spices, condiments, coffee) before you leave. There is a Yonder Yurt dumpster located at our office near the park entrance where you can dispose of your trash. Any littering around the yurt and in the State Forest SP will result in a fine.

What's NOT included

There are no showers or running water at this location. Guests should plan to bring their own potable water for drinking and cooking. Alternatively guests can filter water from North Fork Canadian River or utilize the fill up stations located near North Michigan Reservoir. During winter months, water can be supplied by snowmelt and filtered. Guests will need to bring their own filtration systems. There is no wifi and very limited cell service at this location. This offers a great opportunity to unplug and enjoy the outdoors but we highly recommend bringing a Satellite phone, two-way radio, or Personal Locator Beacon in case of emergency.
